I was fascinated recently by a programme which featured celebrities trying to turn back time both physically and mentally – it was called 100 Years Younger in 21 Days. When they started the process they were all assessed for fitness, brain response, skin damage and more. It was amazing to see how their past and present was having an impact on their future. By the end of the process while they had managed to reduce their ‘ages’ by the 100 years it was interesting to see how well they had done individually and what hadn’t gone well for others.
I was really impressed by the staff looking after the celebrities in particular Thorbjörg Hafsteinsdóttir, who at the age of 57 looks absolutely amazing and shining with health. I downloaded her book and even though my process is slow I have started to implement her suggestions for a healthier lifestyle.
I have suffered with IBS since I was 16 and became very stressed waiting for my GCSE results, it was a very long summer and after visiting the doctor with terrible stomach pains, he told me it was IBS and to take up Yoga. Since then to now I still suffer and for the past year my symptoms have got so bad I went to see my doctor who has started an investigation to see if there is anything else going on. So far all the results have come back clear which is a relief but I am still in pain. So even though my life is very busy and quite stressful I am trying to be calm as much as possible and have started to eliminate certain things from my diet to see if they make any difference and to also notice when I eat something that causes pain. I hope that maybe what I might find may be of help to someone else. So far I have noticed that whenever I eat a lot of meat or bread the pain comes back so I am cutting back on my gluten and meat consumption. I have increased my vegetable intake and have cut out alcohol and the amount of coffee I drink.
To help with my investigation I am going to use a food elimination diary so that I can track my diet to see what makes a difference.
I have created a downloadable pdf of my food diary which you can download too, if it helps me it might help you as well. Just click on the image to download.
Good luck with your health ventures, I will let you know how I get on.
Until the next time…x
